You can't own the Internet, you can only share it.
So what is it that we are all sharing?

The Internet is actually an international network of computer networks linked together through
fiber optic cables, satellites and phone lines.

Finding information on the Internet requires:

  1. a computer connected to the Internet
  2. a software package called a browser, such as Netscape or Internet Explorer.
  3. a communication "protocol" such as email, chat, Web, FTP, etc.

The Web is the most popular and the most widely used protocol on the Internet.

Knowing what you are looking at on the Internet and where you found it are important skills you will learn
in this tutorial.
