The Elihu Burritt Librarys World Wide Web home page offers users
substantial access to many different types of information. There is plenty to explore: users can take advantage
of the Librarys subscription to the electronic Encyclopedia Britannica (see last issue of this Newsletter), full text
journals from Project Muse, and many trial offers from
database vendors.
A notable resource that has migrated to the Web is the Biography and
Genealogy Master Index. BMGI lists names of persons and will provide
information on where biographical information has appeared. Formerly a
multivolume printed resource, the BMGI shrank to cd-rom size several
years ago. Now it is available to the CCSU community through the
Librarys home page on the WWW. (The Library's URL is
http://library.ccsu.ctstateu.edu/lib)
To access this database, begin at the Librarys home page, select Access
to Electronic Resources, then select Biography and Genealogy Master
Index. Enter a word or name.
The links below take you into the Biography and
Genealogy Master Index. You must be on the CCSU campus network to
access these links. Use your browser's back button to return to this
page.
