How Do I Find..
How do I find out if the library owns a book I need?
Use the CONSULS catalog to search for books, scores, DVDs, sound recordings, etc.
How do I find articles?
Select the "Find Articles via Databases" link on the homepage to get a list of journal/magazine/newspaper abstracting and indexing resources. Listings are by subject as well as alphabetical. Many also contain the full-text of the article or links to full-text, so you can view the articles right on your PC! To view a short demonstration of the Academic Search Premier database, click here (high-speed connections recommended).
How do I find out if the library owns a journal, newspaper or magazine?
Do a search for the journal/magazine/newspaper title using the journal title search key in CONSULS. You can also search for E-journals using the E-Journal Locator.
How do I order books and articles that are not found at the
CCSU Library?
If you followed the steps in the questions above but still can't find the journal or book, you may submit a request using our web forms. Articles can be sent to you via e-mail if you select 'Adobe Acrobat' as the delivery method on the web form. The article(s) will be sent to your email account within a week-to-10 days.
Requests for books that are owned by one of the
other CSU Libraries may be placed in CONSULS by selecting the "Request Book"
button at the top of the screen. Placing requests through CONSULS requires a
current BlueChip ID number and PIN code. The books you request via this method
will be available at the Circulation Desk for pickup. If the book is not owned
by one of the CSU libraries, you can submit a request using the web form for
books. To view a short demonstration of requesting a book through CONSULS, click here (high-speed connections recommended).
Where can I find information on copyright?
The website Copyright at CSUS is designed to provide guidance and enable informed decisions with respect to the use of copyrighted materials.
Do you have my textbook?
The library buys materials to supplement your textbooks and assist in your research. We do not buy textbooks; however, a textbook may be given to the library on occasion. You can search CONSULS, using the author or title, but be aware that the textbooks in the library are usually older editions.
