LexisNexis off campus access restored

We are having some issues with off campus access to our LexisNexis database.  This should be resolved within the next 24 hours and we will keep you updated when the status changes.  There should be no issues with using this database in the library, so please let us know if you need anything from us.

EXHIBIT: “From War to Victory, 1939-1989”

An exhibit sponsored by the Insitute of the National Remembrance and the Polish Studies Program will be on view in the Burritt Library, 2nd floor, from March 26 – April 9th

The exhibition is about a special half-century in the history of Poland.  The main theme of the exhibit is Polish fight for freedom, expressed in a form of armed struggle and political activity.  Expressive photographs show Polish soldiers on various World War II fronts and the phenomenon of the Polish Underground State in the occupied country.

Reception & opening lecture: Tuesday, March 31st, 2015 at 6:30 pm, Elihu Burritt Library, 2nd Floor, CCSU

Lecture will be given by Dr. Władysław Bułhak, 

Deputy Director of the Office of Public Education.

Dr. Władysław Bułhak is a member of the editorial board of scientific IPN semi-annual “Memory and Justice”, as well as an international research network Centre for Cold War Studies at the University of Southern Denmark in Ödensee.

Admission is FREE and the public is cordially invited.

Spring Break Hours

During Spring Break, the library will be OPEN Monday, March 16-Friday, March 20, 8am-4:45pm. We will be CLOSED Saturday, March 14 and 21, and Sunday, March 15 and 22.

We resume our regular hours on Monday, March 23.

Temporary E-Resource Issues

Good morning!

We are having some temporary access issues with students using laptops on campus to get to our electronic resources and databases.  We are working on this issue and hope to have it resolved quickly!  If you find you are having problems, please let us know, we’ll try and have it up and running.

 

Black History Month Exhibit

Please check out the Black History Month Exhibit on the 2nd floor of the library! It features books from our impressive general collection and highlights the works of many major black writers, artists, and thinkers, including Langston Hughes, Zora Neale Hurston, Martin Luther King, Jr., Maya Angelou, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Audre Lorde.

The library will be OPEN Friday, Feb. 13, 8am-4:45pm, and Monday, Feb. 16, 8am-10:45pm.
