Ms. Aronson is Vice President for Financial Planning and Management at the University of Connecticut. During her career in public service she has served Governors O'Neill, Weicker and Rowland as Connecticut's deputy commissioner of Education, commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Income Maintenance as well as deputy secretary of the Office of Policy and Management.

Interview Joseph H. Harper, Jr. - Interview conducted on 7-25-2002 by Robert Douglas with Joseph H. Harper Jr. of New Britain, Connecticut. During his sixteen years in the General Assembly, which included the 10 years of former Governor William A. O'Neil's administration, Mr. Harper held numerous leadership positions, including Deputy President Pro Tempore of the Senate, as well as Senate Chairman of the budget writing Appropriations Committee, the Labor and Public Employees Committee and both Senate and House Chairman of the Program Review and Investigations Committee. Mr. Harper was a leading proponent and member of the Commission to Study the Management of State Government, established by Governor O'Neill to explore ways of reducing government costs. Afterwards, Mr. Harper co-chaired the Commission to Reorganize State Government, known as the Harper-Hull Commission.
