AN EXHIBIT OF PHOTOGRAPHS AND ARTIFACTS FROM PAST AND FUTURE TRIPS ARE ON DISPLAY IN THE ELIHU BURRITT LIBRARY, 2ND FLOOR.

Full Circle – This exhibition presents photographs from Barbara Sternal’s travels with the Center for Institutional Education in 2018 and 2019. Sternal recently graduated with an MA in Public History from CCSU and participated in 5 study abroad courses while at the university. Her photos provide a glimpse into the variety of breathtaking sights and unforgettable experiences available to students who study abroad. Barbara visited: New Zealand, Australia & Tasmania, Ecuador & Galapagos, Ireland, and Greece.

The Arts & Culture of Bolivia – this exhibit promotes trip to Bolivia, July 5-22, 2020.

Program directors: Prof. Vicente Garcia & Dr. Cassandra Broadus Garcia, Art Dpt.

Bolivia provides the backdrop for the study of the history, arts, and culture of this unique South American country. Students will get perspective of lifestyles of the indigenous people in Bolivia.

Botswana & Zimbabwe, Southern Africa – Environmental communication & Wildlife conservation. Trip to Southern Africa, July 1-16, 2020.

The tour will begin in Johannesburg, South Africa and end in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe.

Students will tour the world-famous Kruger National Park, with safari drives and walks led by expert naturalists. After this we will visit the unique Elephant Sands area of Botswana where we will view elephants venturing in from the bush to a flood light lit water hole.  Then we drive to Kasane on the boarder of Chobe National Park and enjoy a lengthy river cruise on the Chobe River to view elephants, hippos, crocs, and many other animals on the river banks.

The First Annual ‘Hu-eys! – Photo gallery

The 1st Annual Friends of the Elihu Burritt Library donor recognition reception, affectionately dubbed the ‘Hu-eys, was a great success!

On Friday, September 27, the Friends of Elihu Burritt Library joined the party to recognize long-time donors and supporters of the Burritt Library.
