Online Textbooks

Online Textbooks:

During the current coronavirus crisis, students and faculty will be able to access textbooks online at no cost through the two platforms below. Each person needs to set up their own account at these sites.

  1. VitalSource access will be available through May 25th. Their textbook listing is visible at:
    https://www.vitalsource.com/textbooks. For more information, please go to 
    https://get.vitalsource.com/vitalsource-helps or to the FAQ at 
    https://support.vitalsource.com/hc/en-us/articles/360044467714-Publisher-FAQ . Students are limited to 7 books total. Books can be downloaded. (This applies to e-Books only, not courseware.)
  2. RedShelf access is available through May 25th. Redshelf’s textbooks collections can be searched at: 
    https://redshelf.com/. Students are limited to 7 books total. There are more details at: https://www.about.redshelf.com/redshelfresponds. (This applies to e-Books only, not courseware. )

Virtual Library Services During Shutdown

Elihu Burritt Library has a new online guide (libguide) available to assist you while you are off campus. It can be found at https://libguides.ccsu.edu/elibrary  Feel free to post it in Blackboard to share with students. Next week during the week of spring break, librarians will be available via chat and email from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.  You can access chat through the link above or via the library’s website – library.ccsu.edu (top right corner). They will be available for more hours once online classes start. That schedule will be posted next week.

Emergency Closing of Campus & Library
