Wireless Printing is Here

Wireless printing is now available in the Burritt Library!   To download the wireless printing application, go to www.ccsu.edu/its/downloads, then choose the app for either Mac or Windows.  Instructions on installing the apps are included in the download.

Ceramics exhibit

Five students from Ceramics IV class thaught by Vicente G. Garcia present their capstone project pieces. You can admire works by Lindsey Halliwell, Kelly Richnavsky, Brittany Baranoski, Paola Evangelista and Heather Allen in exhibit cases on 2nd floor of the Elihu Burritt Library till the end of December.

Thanksgiving Weekend Hours

The Library will be closing at 3pm on Wednesday, November 21 for the Thanksgiving Break. We will be closed, Thursday thru Sunday, November 22 through November 25. Regular hours will resume on Monday, November 27, 8am to 10:45pm.

BookCrossing Comes to Burritt Library!

Bookcrossing FREE BOOKS!  What could be better than that?

Looking for something to read?  Do you have a great book that you want to pass around?  Come to the 2nd floor of the Burritt Library and check out the new Bookcrossing area.  Comfy seating and a relaxed atmosphere for browsing titles is provided, and if you find a book you’d like to read, go ahead and take it with you! And if you have a book you’d like to donate, go ahead and leave it for someone else.

Each book is tagged with a number so that you can track that books journey.  Simply go to Bookcrossing.com and enter the number to see where each book has traveled.

Lost in Translation, Found in Translations

Dr. Maria Frank, of the University of Hartford will deliver a lecture on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, 6:15 – 7:45 PM in the Special Collections reading room, 2nd floor of the library. The lecture Lost in Translation, Found in Translations is organized by Student Club Central’s Italian American Organization and the Italian Resource Center.

Maria Esposito Frank will present a selection of 20th and 21st-century short poems by Umberto Saba, Eugenio Montale, Margherita Guidacci, and Maria Luisa Spaziani. Each original Italian text will be accompanied by various English translations, that will be individually discussed in order to examine obstacles and challenges of linguistic, formal and cultural nature – each translator encountered in his/her rendition of the poems.

CREDO Reference – Online Encyclopedias, Dictionaries, Reference Books, etc.

(Click on the Articles & Databases tab, then C for Credo Reference, then page down and click on the Credo Reference link). Over 500 hundred reliable reference sources (including many general and subject specific encyclopedias) are available.
