About

A History Harvest is a community’s opportunity to define and preserve its own history. HIST 405/505 is a Public History bridge course for upper class undergrads and graduate students.  We spend the first half of the semester learning about the importance and structure of local and community history to the historical profession and then we go into the community to understand how locals define their own history. We invite community members to bring objects/stories/documents/photographs to these events to be digitized and then made available for public education and for future generations and projects. The CCSU Library will retain this digital archive, providing full access to the community. It will be free and open to the public for use. Participants are from Greater New Britain.
