Instructions for Next Week’s CCAR’s Turnaround Time Study:
OUTGOING CCAR:
STUDENTS: Starting after noon on Friday, April 4th, get 10 items ready to be shipped by CCAR, but do not FILL OUT the slips. Give the pile of materials to me and I will do it using the ORANGE slips. We are going to do this every day for the next week. The last day you will do it will be on Thursday, April 10th.
INCOMING: To WHOEVER DOES THE MAIL: Next week, we will begin to receive CCAR materials with white slips and with neon ORANGE slips. When we start receiving the orange slips, keep them together and give them to me. I will take care of the rest of the process.
Thanks. Kim
***Exercises/Tutorials***
From Stephanie at Atlas:
I posted practice exercises and tutorials for you to complete between classes. These are not required but would give you a chance to try some borrowing tasks while you are still in testing before going live.

From Genie at Atlas Systems…..
As I announced on Friday of the ILLiad conference, we’ll be releasing ILLiad Version 7.3 on Tuesday April 1, 2008. (No really, on April 1st.)
In preparation, we’ll be having preview sessions that you can attend via WebEx Event Center to see the major changes in 7.3 as well as learn how best to prepare for the upgrade. You can view the list of ILLiad 7.3 Preview Sessions here:
https://atlas-sys.webex.com/mw0304l/mywebex/default.do?siteurl=atlas-sys&service=6
The preview session times are:
Wednesday, March 19 2-4pm
Thursday, March 20 2-4pm
Tuesday, March 25 2-4pm
Wednesday, March 26 2-4pm
Thursday, March 27 2-4pm
I’ll also be recording one of the sessions and making it available to view in case those times are bad for you.
I don’t think we’ll need the entire 2 hours, but it’s there in case we do. Also remember that if you are all in the same office or building, please use a speaker phone or conference room to view the preview so we can be sure there are enough spaces for everyone. If your institution has remote folks that are miles away, though, they’re welcome to log in separately and not make a field trip to the main office.
Thanks, Genie

Happy Leap Day,
I’ve been accumulating some reminders that libraries have wanted me to send out and thought I’d post them on this extra day. They’ll be repeated next February 29th.
1. You know I’m going to start with Kent vs. Kent.
Kent Library Association in Kent is B-88 Kent Memorial Library in Suffield is A -183
2. By Kent standards, these aren’t even close, but watch out for Stratford Library Association (A-182) vs. Stafford Library Association (A-176). We won’t get into Stamford.
3. And there is Hall Memorial Library in Ellington. Please don’t confuse with Hall Memorial School in Willington.
4. Staples. Please don’t put staples on your AV packaging. Our fingers are tender.
And you don’t have to over-tape either. Just enough to secure the package.
5. See those boxes at the bottom of the slip? Please use them to indicate whether the item is an ILL request/return, system hold, etc. This saves time for the receiving library’s staff.
Happy Leap Day. Sharon from the CT State Library

The links in the Consuls catalog have been corrupted. So, to find the digital file, go to:
Under FIND: look for Theses and Dissertations
Then type in the title. They should all be there. If you have problems, let me know.
