Items that no longer circulate through ILL

***IF we add titles to this list, be sure to tell Dana. She can code the MARC record, so that the items cannot be requested through OCLC.*** This will not work in reQuest.

1) Charley Harper
2) Katyn – DVD
3) I was born, but….. DVD
4) Il gattopardo, Luchino Visconti – DVD
5) The red book = Liber novus, Carl Jung
6) Allure – Diana Vreeland

Requesting from reQuest using ILLiad

When you are creating the lending string to enter into ILLiad, remember to “A-G:RQST:” in front of every code, then enter a comma and a space. Other wise it creates one big library code that does not make sense to ILLiad, such as A-G:RQST:ELY,HMI,ACT, etc.

reQuest Search Settings

I noticed that I had a problem a few weeks ago on my reQuest search screen. But with things the past few weeks, I haven’t had a chance to figure out how to fix it.

If when you go to the reQuest search screen to search for a book and your settings have been changed, here is how you fix it. From the Status Browse screen, click on STAFF MENU. On the left, look for: My Account. Click the plus sign next to it to open the submenu.

When you click on the “My Favorite Resources” link you can pick the databases that will be the default everytime you open reQuest. I just like reQuest and the reQuest Serials databases. Click Submit, then log out of reQuest. The next time you log in, you changes will have been saved. Steve said that we had an upgrade a few weeks ago that trashed some accounts, but not others.

New Borrowing Procedure: reQuest

In an effort to save some money, be sure to check reQuest first for materials that our patrons need.

1) Find the ISBN number and enter it into the request form in ILLiad.
2) Pick five libraries who are ILL Lenders in reQuest and leave that in a note in the record.
3) Under the OCLC information, change the System ID from OCLC to ISO. [Save changes]
4) Then, select [Route] to [To Other Request Processing]

I will then take it from there.
