At the end of the Fall semester the library will no longer support Refworks citation manager.  Our access will end on December 31^st, 2020. 

Going forward the library will be recommending and supporting the use of open source citation management options such as Zotero and Mendeley. 

In the upcoming weeks the library will be providing you with additional tools to help you migrate and keep your Refworks data as well as assisting you with the relevant information on how to make the choice that is best for you in citation management tools.  Please keep an eye out for these tutorials and instructions.

Limited on-ground library services are available for faculty and students during the following hours (subject to change)*:

Get books from the library (“curbside pickup”)

• MONDAY-FRIDAY: 8am-4pm
• SATURDAY: 9am-1pm
• SUNDAY: Closed

The building will remain open for classes & individual study after library services end (M-Th 8am-9:30pm).

Library instruction is key to building students’ information literacy. Information literacy allows scholars to assess their information needs, find information, evaluate it, and use it appropriately.  

Request an online instruction session, introduction to library resources, and other services today!

The online instruction request form may be used to schedule an online information literacy session or general overview of library resources to support your course in a LMS such as Blackboard. We can host or join your class via Webex or another platform for a live session. In addition, this form may be used to request the creation of various online research aids such as a course guide, customized lesson plan, tutorial, and other services to support your online teaching.

Though the Burritt Library remains closed to visitors, it is now minimally staffed on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule. Faculty, if you need any physical books from the library collection, please send an email to circulation@ccsu.edu.

Materials will be pulled from the stacks twice a day. Books pulled in the morning will be available for pickup that afternoon. Books pulled in the afternoon will be available for pick up the next open morning. The hours for picking up materials will be 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the days we are on campus. 

Materials will be checked out to faculty before being packaged up. They will then be placed on a table outside the library, to the left of the front door with the faculty member’s name and pickup date displayed clearly on the package.  Any materials that are not picked up will be taken back in before closing and will not be put outside again until we are contacted with an alternate pick up date and time. 

A cart will also be available for returned materials. To maximize safety, returned materials will be quarantined for three days and then checked in.

We can also make available incoming ILL and consortia materials that may have arrived since March. Currently, the ordering of physical materials through ILL or the consortia is closed.  ILL will continue to order articles.
