Join us this Friday to learn more about these great resources that the library provides.
Temporary location of Special Collections and ISAR
Due to HVAC renovation the offices located on the 2nd floor of the Library, Special Collections and ISAR- Information Systems and Resources, have moved to the Confucius Institute area on the 4th floor. We will be in this temporary location till end of March, 2016.
Materials located in Special Collections will not be available during renovations. However we still provide access to University Archives, GLBTQ Archives and Connecticut Polish American Archives.
ISAR provides the same services, also 3-D printing assistance is available.
Telephone numbers are the same.

***UPDATE***
Access to Jstor has returned! Thank you again for your patience!
Jstor is still undergoing an outage. We recently received this message from them:
We are continuing to make progress restoring full access to JSTOR. Users should be able to search, browse, and access most journal articles and primary sources on www.jstor.org. Access to books as well as journal content published in the most recent few years may be intermittent. If you need help, please feel free to email us at support@jstor.org.
We will let you know when the issue is resolved and again, thank you for your patience.

Guayasamín Unframed is curated by Dr. Rocio Fuentes, Assistant Professor of Modern Languages with the collaboration of Dr. Heather Rodriguez, Assistant Professor of Sociology. The exhibit is sponsored by the Modern Languages Department, The Latin American and Latino Studies Program, Ellihu Burritt Library, The School of Education, Art Department, History Department, Student Affairs, and the Latin American, Latino and Caribbean Center at CCSU.
Opening Reception, September 21, 3 p.m., featured guest speakers include the Ecuadorian consul at New Heaven, Mr. Raúl Erazo and CCSU art professors Rachel Siporin and Mike Alewitz.
Guest Lecture, October 14, 9:30 a.m., featuring Dr. Juan Ramos (College of the Holy Cross)
“This exhibit bridges cultural theory, mathematical analysis, media visualization, and computer programming in an innovative installation of the mural Ecuador (1952), a major art work by Oswaldo Guayasamín, one of the most prominent Latin American artists of the twentieth century. Identity is always in motion. Such is the feeling behind Guayasamín’s mural. Intended to represent the inherent antagonisms and racial multiplicity of the Ecuadorian nation. “
The mural is composed of five movable and interchangeable panels. These panels will be exhibited alongside a digital interface, which will allow visitors to view 30,720 potential configurations of the piece, and even to virtually create their own mural.
