Summer sessions 1 & 2 run from June 1st to August 8th. During this time regular library hours will be: M-Th, 8am-7:45pm; Fri, 8am-4:45pm; Sat. 9am-3:45pm.
Online librarian chat-based help will be available: M-Th, 8am-8pm; Fri, 8am-5pm; Sat, 9am-4pm.

The library & online librarian help will be closed for the July 4th holiday weekend (Sat., Jul 3- Mon, Jul 5).

Open@CCSU – April ’21 Newsletter

The Elihu Burritt Library’s OER team is happy to share their newly published April ’21 edition of the Open @ CCSU newsletter, where you can find: resources to help you locate, evaluate, and create OER; an announcement about the upcoming (free) Northeast OER Summit; results of the U.S. PIRG’s Fixing the Broken Textbook Market survey; and more.

2021 Elihu Burritt Research Award Winners!

The staff at Elihu Burritt Library would like congratulate this year’s winners of the Elihu Burritt Library Research Awards:

Junior, Jacqueline T. Thomas, for her paper, “Why Did African Americans Remain in the South After the Emancipation?”

Senior, Adamantios Koukouves, for his paper, “Nationalism, the Crusades, and the Eastern Roman Empire”

The Elihu Burritt Library Research Awards recognize excellence in undergraduate and graduate research papers/projects as well as skill and creativity in the application of library services, resources and collections.

2021 Elihu Burritt Library Research Awards – Due 3/8!

The Elihu Burritt Library Research Awards recognize excellence in undergraduate and graduate research papers/projects as well as skill and creativity in the application of library services, resources and collections. A prize of $350 will be awarded to an undergraduate and graduate student during the 2021 spring semester at the University Research and Creative Achievement Day  (URCAD).  *Please note that for graduate students, this applies to class assignments and not the final program thesis/project.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be enrolled during the Spring 2021 semester as a Central Connecticut State University student at any class level or discipline/major.
  • Have completed their research paper or project for a credit course during the spring, summer, or fall semesters in 2020.
  • Agree that the paper or project and application materials will be publicly displayed in the library’s online collections.
