Writing center tutors will be available for students on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:00-8:00 pm in the Reference area (on the library’s 2nd floor).
This pilot of a Writing Center “satellite office” is in addition to the Writing Center’s normal coverage. For an idea of what the Writing Center offers and its regular hours in Willard-Diloreto, check out http://www.ccsu.edu/writingCenter/.
The library is piloting a new demand-driven program for streaming media through Kanopy to get a better sense of the funding that will be needed in order to keep it cost effective and sustainable in conjunction with its use for curriculum.
(You can also access Kanopy from the library’s CentralSearch or website by clicking on theDatabasesA to Z list links and entering Kanopy into the search box or choose it from the alphabetical listing of databases.)
Given the library’s limited budget for this project, not all content available through Kanopy will be listed. If you are interested in a particular film that you need to support your curriculum & cannot find it on the Kanopy website, please email Acquisitions Librarian Kristina Edwards (kedwards@ccsu.edu) and she will respond to you when possible during regular business hours.
*** UPDATE *** As of 3pm, the active loan due dates that were changed to January 8, 2019 have been restored. Again, thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to improve the library system’s handling of due dates.
Staff attempts to improve the Alma/Primo library system’s handling of due dates during semester breaks led to an inadvertent modification of active loans’ due dates this week. Active loans’ due dates were changed to January 8, 2019. The due date calendar has been restored and we are currently working to fix those due dates that were modified. Please note that we are aware of the issue and working on it. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Library hours are returning to normal, non-extended hours for Thurs., 12/13-Sat., 12/15 (Thurs., 8am-10:45pm; Fri., 8am-4:45pm, Sat., 9am-3:45pm).
The library will be on its reduced-hour schedule from 12/16/18 to 1/21/2019. The reduced schedule is: 8am-4:45pm Mon-Fri; closed on Saturdays & Sundays.
Additionally, the library will be closed for the following holidays:
CCSU’s Elihu Burritt Library is here to support you in the final weeks of your Fall semester. To that end, the following is a listing of events and extended hours at the library:
Coffee & Cookies, Mon-Wed., 12/4-12/6 at 6:30pm, 1st floor

Did you know that the Burritt Library subscribes to numerous collections of online resources that are available to our students, faculty and staff from both on and off campus? As a member of the CCSU community you have access to a wide range of databases, e-journals, eBooks and other tools to support you in your studies, research and teaching! With so many resources available, it can be difficult to keep track of them all. In our Spotlight series, we will highlight one of these resources each month to help connect our students and faculty with some of the unique resources available via the Elihu Burritt Library, and to offer some tips and tricks for using them. In our fourth and final installment of the Fall 2018 series, allow us to introduce you to Oxford Art Online. View the newsletter (PDF) or review the Spotlight on e-Resources LibGuide
