The Elihu Burritt Library houses nearly a half million books and an extensive journal collection. But that’s not all. It’s website is the gateway to over 89,000 e-journals and online magazines, over 400,000 e-book and e-serials titles, and over 100 research databases. As times and technology change, so does the Elihu Burritt Library.
April 24-28, 2023 has been designated as National Library Week. It’s a time when we celebrate how libraries connect people, build community, expand knowledge, and provide access to the digital world.

There’s More to the Story… @ the Elihu Burritt Library during National Library Week (on the week of April 24th).
The schedule of events includes:
Monday, April 24, 9-11AM at the Library’s Entrance: “Tell Us Why You Love Your Library,” our local kickoff of National Library Week
Tuesday, April 25, 6:30PM in the library’s Special Collection (2nd floor), there will be a reading of contemporary Italian American poetry
Wednesday, April 26, 11:30-1 & 3-4:30, on the 1st floor, picture yourself in a READ poster
Thursday, April 27, All day, 1st floor, “Poem in Your Pocket Day” – Pick up a mini pocket poem & celebrate National Poetry Month plus National Library Week! Also, at noon, in the Special Collections on the 2nd floor, there will be a Faculty Appreciation Lunch with Librarians – bring your own lunch & we will bring the desserts!
All week – Research Assistance – stop by the 2nd floor, chat or book time with us (library.ccsu.edu), and catch us at the Writing Center!

The Elihu Burritt Library’s Student Research Awards recognize excellence in CCSU undergraduate and graduate research papers/projects as well as skill and creativity in the application of library services, resources and collections. Two prizes of $350 will be awarded, one to an undergraduate student and the other to a graduate student during the 2023 spring semester.
