How to Request an Item from the CSCU Consortium (Updated Jan. 2017)

  1. Sign into CentralSearch using your student, staff, or faculty credentials.
  2. Do a Search for the item. You can use the title, author, or subject to search for the item.
  3. Choose “CSCU Library Consortium” to search for items in the entire consortium. Then click on the blue Search box.
  4. Click on the title of the item you would like to request.
  5. In the item record, scroll down to “Get it.” Make sure the item is not available (or not in place) at CCSU and it is available (or in place) at the library you’re requesting it from.
  6. If the item is at more than one institution, select the institution you would like to request the book from.
  7. Under “Request Options,” click on “Request.”
  8. Select the Pickup Institution. It will automatically default to Pickup Library.
  9. Indicate Not Needed After Date if desired.
  10. Click on “Request.”
  11. You will receive an e-mail when the item has arrived at the Pickup Institution/Library. It usually takes two to three business days to ship and receive an item.
