For CCSU patrons: The software that controls the authentication to the system at: id.ct.edu will lock a patron’s account if they attempt to login unsuccessfully five times in a row. The system will reset and unlock the account 15 minutes after that fifth unsuccessful attempt.
It might also be good to know that if a patron tries to login unsuccessfully for any amount of times less than five and then waits five minutes, the counter will revert back to five attempts.
For GUESTS: I need to explore this some more, because I did find one Guest who managed to lock up his account. What I don’t know is how many unsuccessful tries will lock the account, and I need to find out what level of user roles will allow it to be unlocked. More to follow on that.
